Tropentag Conference, 10. Sep. 2025

After the annual meeting in Berlin, the ANF team attended the Tropentag Conference in Bonn from 10-12 Sep 2025. Several team members presented results of the ANF project. For WP1, Aicha Mechri presented a poster on sustainability hotspots in fruit and vegetable value chains in the Niayes area in Senegal. For WP2, the two PhD students Martin Tendeng and Matthew Mumo each had an oral presentation on results of the on-station trials on performance of selected vegetable species under different shade nets. These shade net trials were mainly performed by the MSc students Amadou Diallo (Senegal) and Francis Ouma (Kenya). Two posters were presented on WP3 results. Annie Ong’ayo presented the general results of farmer-led knowledge co-creation in farmer field schools in Senegal and Kenya. Silke Stöber presented on behalf of the WP3 MSc student Rokhaya Gueye on her specific results of a better understanding of knowledge co-creation in farmer field schools in Senegal. All presentations were followed by lively discussions with the audience and the ANF team members used the opportunity for networking among the conference participants.
